A Building Survey is the most thorough form of survey that can be commissioned.  It is particularly useful when considering an older property or one that has had alterations or building work done on it.

Surveyors

When looking for a Surveyor, it is important to make sure they are fully qualified to carry out the survey you require. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) keeps a register of all its Members and Fellows, so this is easy to verify.  Chartered Surveyors will have MRICS or FRICS after their name.

Another body for professionals specialising in the design, construction, evaluation and maintenance of building construction is the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE). Professionally qualified members will have the letters MCABE or FCABE after their names.

There is also the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) .  Their members work in the development, conservation and improvement of the built environment.  Chartered members will have the letters MCIOB or FCIOB after their names.

It should be noted that registered Architects also sometimes carry out surveys.

The website was very easy to use and I used Blackman Chartered Surveyors. Mr Blackman was very efficient and helpful, he provided a good service.
M. Clacton - on Sea, Essex
All fine with the website. I followed up with Kent Project Partnerships. The work has been done - very quickly and to our satisfaction. Really useful service. Very satisfied
David, Ashford, Kent
Website worked well. I used Anthony Cross, Cross Surveys Ltd. All work done and all satisfactory.
Richard, Coddenham, Suffolk
I am more than pleased with the way your website worked, and the response I received. I did follow up with an order for John Kelly of Arthur Bryant Surveying. The survey was carried out on Friday 19th, and John has rung me to talk me through his findings prior to receiving the written report. Although time will only tell if a good service or not, I am more than happy at the moment.I would like to say that if I hadn't found your website I would have really struggled to sort out the survey, so a big thank you to you.
Best regards Gordon, Ramsgate, Kent
Professionalism : Chris has gone the extra mile to ensure that all issues were properly investigated and resolved. Very well done
Paul, Norwich
Promptness of response : Mr Nash was very quick to come back to me regards my query. Quality of service : I can not fault the service I received from Nash & Co, especially Mr Nash, who was so helpful. The report was comprehensive and covered everything that was required. He even said, once I'd received my report, to call him to go through his findings. The property I am purchasing is a Clay Lump cottage and he was very knowledgeable of these types of buildings. He was very patient with my lack of knowledge and happily went through all of my questions. Value for money : I thought the amount I paid was extremely good value for money. Professionalism : I can not fault Mr Nash - he was very quick to carry out my survey and I just left it to him to contact the Estate Agent and carry out the work. He contacted me to let me know that he had done the work and I received the report within 3 days however it was also emailed to me - I would highly recommend him to anyone and would definitely use his service again should I ever want to move
