Air Quality Testing

The air we breathe needs to be as unpolluted as possible for us to feel and be healthy.  The oxygen in the air is essential for animal life but the air is also made up of other gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, argon and water vapour.  Added to this are other chemicals and particles released by various human activities such as driving our cars, heating our homes or workplaces, cleaning using chemicals and by household appliances and building materials, to name a few.  These additional chemicals and particles have the potential to affect our health and the environment and are called contaminants or pollutants.  If they are allowed to build up in the air they are collectively referred to as air pollution.

Good ventilation will help to minimise the levels of some toxic substances but this may not be adequate or appropriate.  Many pollutants are invisible and undetectable by the general population.  Biological and particulate pollution, in addition to carbon monoxide and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) can arise from many sources including ones you may not expect such as carpeting, upholstery, computer monitors, air conditioning units, mould and so on.

Air quality testing involves monitoring, analysing and reporting on the interior air in a home, office, workplace or other commercial premises and providing remediation solutions, products and services if required.  The testing will identify issues such as low oxygen, dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and hazardous levels of cancer causing VOCs, moulds, spores and damp.  Levels of radon, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, aldehydes and many more will be monitored and reported on.  An air quality surveyor can identify sources of pollution such as faulty appliances, dirty or unserviced ventilation and air conditioning equipment.

A report can help you to make informed decisions about how to proceed if interior air pollution has been identified.  If you are a householder or parent, a report may identify reasons why you or family members suffer from allergies in the home or why asthma is exacerbated whilst in the home.  If you are an employer wanting to provide a safe and healthy environment for your staff, customers and patrons, a report will help towards achieving this and meeting legislation.

To obtain contact details of experts who cover your area and can provide air quality surveys and reports, please fill in your details above.  We will instantly give you a list of people who can help you so that you can contact them directly.

Feedback from some of our Customers

We ask all of our Customers to let us have any feedback they may want to give on our website and on any of the Suppliers they used. Below are some of their comments:

The survey was conducted a few days after first contact, and I received the full survey pack less than a week later. Very impressed with the quality of service. Not only one of the most reasonable quotes, but the service they supplied was excellent.
Piers, Bournemouth
Very prompt and efficient Really pleased with this aspect Money well spent Excellent . Would highly recommend and would definitely use again if required
Ziya, Southampton
Exactly as promised. First visit within 3 days of commissioning. Report 2 days after that. Asked for a follow up (to check that issues identified in the first visit had been properly remedied). Visit as agreed. Report within 24hours plus an email communication on the day of the visit. Can fault nothing. To be fair not entirely sure what the going rate is, but seemed more than reasonable for a thoroughly professional service.
Karen, Telford, Shropshire
We spoke on the phone and he was very reassuring as to timescales. He went to the property very quickly and carried our the survey efficiently. It's expensive, but Michael was very competitive compared to others.
Rebecca, Letchworth

Simon, Twickenham
Emailed information very quickly Clear explainations of the domestic energy survey Competitive, there were others closer slightly cheaper - but I felt Kevin conducted a full inspection and gave me confidence in the results On time, knowledgeable, speedy & efficient
