Why should we consider Renewable Energy Solutions?
In days gone past keeping warm in the winter meant wearing heavy clothes and burning lots of wood. As technology has progressed other forms of heating have evolved including burning coal and burning gas. Electricity has all the appearances of being nice and clean but we should all be aware that making electricity often involves burning even more coal or gas. We now know that burning all these combustible materials generates carbon and CO2 and is not good for the atmosphere. More people are becoming aware that we cannot go on like this and so other alternatives need to be found, in particular we need to start improving the eco design of our buildings and making their energy use more sustainable.
Filling in the form above will allow you to obtain a list of experts in your area who can supply some of the new technology items that will help you conserve energy and at the same time reduce your energy costs. You will be able to make direct contact with these experts and discuss your requirement in more detail. They in turn will be able to tell you about the options available and the likely costs and timescales. Any orders that you place would be made directly. There is no middle man.
What are the different types of Renewable Energy Devices?
There are many different forms of energy saving devices to consider and the following lists some of the possibilities:
Solar cells (electric). Absorb energy from the sun and generate electricity which can then be consumed within the house or fed back into the national grid.
Solar panels (water). Absorb energy from the sun and use it to heat water. It should be noted that although it may be cold outside these will still work as long as it is sunny.
Heat pump. Works like a reverse fridge in that you have pipes outside absorbing energy at a low temperature and you then release this energy inside your building at a higher temperature. The water tank inside the building is usually large so that it can hold a lot of heat. These systems are powered by a small electric pump which moves liquid through the pipes. The electric motor itself is placed inside the building to ensure that the small amount of additional heat coming directly from the motor is not lost.
Heat exchanger. Making a building air tight will certainly help to reduce the loss of energy which would have otherwise flowed out of an open window but of course you will still need fresh air coming in and humid air taken out. An air heat exchanger is a device which warms up the cold air coming in by cooling down the warm air going out. Again it is powered by a small electric motor installed inside the building to ensure that the small amount of additional heat coming directly from the motor is not lost.
Wind Generator. We all know what these look like. Provided you are in a windy place then these can be considered to generate electricity on windy days. The electricity can be used inside the house or fed back into the national grid.
The other major thing to consider when wanting to reduce energy bills is insulation. Lofts should be well insulated and windows should be double glazed. In addition always remember to have lined interior curtains and make sure you keep these closed at night. The above is just an overview but hope it creates a few ideas for you. One last point to remember in the winter is to wear plenty of warm clothes as this really is the best way to conserve energy.
