Promptness of response :  Of the three quotes I received, only one followed up my enquiry and sent a sample survey. I had to wait ten days before the survey was carried out but, in the end, the wait was well worth it.
Quality of service :  The survey was very thorough and comprehensive - plenty of photographs, 360 degree shots of the exterior and gardens, clear explanations about the construction and issues, and a useful traffic light system for any work recommended. There was also a very useful summary of things the conveyancer should check.
Value for money :  Independent Property Surveyors Ltd were slightly more expensive than the other quotes but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I have seen several property surveys over the years but this is the most impressive. My daughter bought a house in Oxford last year - she paid more for the survey and got far less in return.

Johns report was ontime and very informative. After a conversation over the telephone, I decided to opt for the L4 survey, this included a Gas Safety check, Electrical Certificate and a good look down the drains with a camera. Although this cost a little more, it was well worth it as I asked the vendor for a reduction of £5,000 based on the report. Thank you John.
